A charity golf day arranged by Norwich-based developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia has raised £15,452 for its Charity of the Year, Safe Rescue for Dogs. Over 70 golfers, including Barratt and David Wilson Homes employees and subcontractors, took part in the tournament which was held at Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Norwich. The funds raised on the day have been donated to Safe Rescue for Dogs, which is a nationwide registered charity set up for dogs from all walks of life, UK and abroad. The charity was originally set up in 2013 by Kelly Hare and is now a successful foster-based rescue with trustees and employees running the rescue daily.
Kelly Hare, said: “The Safe Rescue Team are all overwhelmed by Barrett Homes choosing us as their Charity of the Year, the much needed funds will go towards the up keep of the rescue, vets bills and further our rescue campaigns abroad”.
As a result of Safe Rescue for Dogs being selected as Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Charity of the Year, the housebuilder has scheduled a variety of fundraising events to take place in aid of the charity.
Simon Wood, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Anglia, said: “This is the first charity golf day we have held as a division, and it was a pleasure to be able to kick things off by raising money for the fantastic charity that is Safe Rescue for Dogs.”
“We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the event for helping to support such a great cause and look forward to the future charity events we have planned for later on in the year.” To find out more about the properties being built by Barratt and David Wilson Homes across the county, visit the at Barratt Homes in Norfolk and David Wilson Homes in Norfolk.
